Danville High School Hall of Fame

Cross Country and Track: Sara had a pivotal role in the dynasty created by Coach E.G. Plummer in the mid 1980's. They were pioneers in the accomplishments of the Track and X- Country teams listed: State Champions in X-Country in 1982, 1984, 1985, and 3rd Place in 1981 and 1983; State Championships in Track in 1983, 1984, 1985 and 1986, and Second Place in 1982. Sara began running as 8th graders, gradually contributing points in both Track and X-Country events. She was selected to the All-Decade Team for the 1980's, and each was selected to several All-State Teams. She set standards for hard work, dedication, and a team first attitude and thus was a role model and leader for others on their team. Rarely has a school had such talented individuals and her teammates, who dominated their sports for nearly a decade.
