
Danville High School Hall of Fame

FOOTBALL:
Varsity letterman X 4 years & only freshman to letter on 1984 state championship team. He was a member of the 1987 state championship team & was the MVP of that game.
Awarded the Billy Rankin Hustler Award in 1985. He was awarded the Kenny Sanders Award for Courage & Spirit in 1986 and, also, the Coaches Award.
He was selected on the All Area team in 1986 & 1987. He was Honorable Mention all State in 1986 & 1987.
At that time, he was the 1st player to letter on 2 state championship teams. He was voted on the DHS All time team of 1951-86 as a DB.
BASKETBALL:
Lettered 4 years. He was a member of the 45th District Champions & the CKC champions in 1987. He was all-District in 1987 & 1988. He was the team assist leader in 1988.
BASEBALL:
Lettered 4 years. Team leader in home runs, stolen bases, & runs scored in 1988. Voted best defensive player in 1986. He was All Area & All Regional in 1986,87, & 88. Team MVP in 1988. Member of District Champs in 1986,87, & 88: Regional Runner-up in 1988. Team record of 74 wins & 16 losses while he was on team.

TRACK:
1980: State Champion in High Hurdles & 3rd in Low Hurdles.
National Honor Roll All-American in High Hurdles & listed as 7th best time in USA.
1979: 2nd in State in High Hurdles & 3rd in Low Hurdles.
1978: Member of State Runner-up team, 3rd in State High Hurdles & 5th in Low Hurdles. In CKC meet, won both hurdles & set record in high hurdles.
Won High & Low Hurdles in CKC meet 3 years in row.
Won Regional High Hurdles X3, & Low Hurdles X2. Won numerous Invitationals & Dual Meets.
Attended UK on a Track scholarship.
Was one of DHS's 1st male cheerleaders

BASEBALL:
Letterman for 5 years.
All Area Baseball team in 1987 & 1988.
All Area Pitcher in 1988.
All 12th Regional team in 1987.
DHS MVP in 1986.
Hit most home runs for DHS in 1985, 86, & 87. DHS Top Pitcher in 1987. DHS Pitching Award in 1988.
DHS MVP in 1988. DHS batting award in 1988.
He was a member on the East-West Baseball All Star team .
FOOTBALL:
Letterman for 3 years.
Starter at Tight End & Defensive End.
Member of the DHS State Champions in 1984 & 1987.
Elected to the All Area team in 1987.
Won the Kenny Anderson FCA Award in 1986 & 1987.
Won the DHS Academic in 1987.
Immediately following the DHS State Championship win in 1987, he was awarded the KY. Chapter Scholar-Athlete Award in Louisville & this included a $1,000 scholarship award & he had his picture taken with John Unitas.
BASKETBALL: Letterman for 3 years. Won the 110% Award in 1988."

Football
3 yr letterman & honorable mention All-State as a defensive lineman.
Track 2 yr. letterman, Swimming 2 yr letterman
Baseball 1 yr letterman.
Returned as Asst Coach in 1970, & developed 1st DHS weight room. Founded FCA Chapter at DHS.
Returned in 1978 & coached in football, Track, cross-country, baseball, girls/boys golf, & girls basketball.
Was on Coach Duffy's staff in 1984 Class AAA championship team.
In 1985, became Director of Pupil Personnel. Transportation & Facilities & during this tenure was instrumental in improving all DHS sports facilities."
