Starter at guard X 3 yrs. & linebacker his Senior year & was All State. Named Lineman on DHS All Time 1951-86,
DHS MVP 1953.
BASKETBALL -starter X 2 yrs. & to State tournament X 1.
Graduate of Western Ky. Univ. & played football 2 years & quit due to a shoulder injury.

Head coach @ Shelby Co. when they started football & was undefeated in the school's & his 1st yr. as a coach.
Head coach @ Campbellsville X 4yrs, then Elizabethtown's Head Coach til retired as coach in 1987 (record at Elizabethtown 100 wins in 11 years, overall record of 142 wins, 61 losses, 6 ties)
Elected to KHSAA Dawhare Hall of Fame in 2003.

FOOTBALL:
2 year starter as tailback his junior & senior year & was All Bluegrass Conference in 1944 & 1945. Attended Tennessee State University on a football scholarship & played his freshman year & then entered the service for 18 months. After the service, he enrolled at Kentucky State University in 1948 & started for 4 years as a DE & DB. He graduated in 1952 with a B.A. in Physical Education.
BASKETBALL: Starting center & All Bluegrass Conference in 1944 & 1945.
AFTER GRADUATION: Taught PE & coached at Bate High School from 1953 through 1959 Then became Coach at Dillard High School in Goldsboro, N.C. from 1959 through 1962. In 1963, moved to Wilmington, N.C. & started a Track team &, 3 years later, won the State Championship in the NC High School Athletic League. Then returned to Dillard High School & remained until the school integrated in 1969. He remained as Assistant coach in football & Track coach until he retired in 1989. During that time, the track team won the city-county track meet 10 consecutive years, finished 3rd in NC State Track Meet & the 880 Relay team set a new State record of 1.26.7 and was ranked in the top 5 teams in America.
One of his quotes was "I feel that a good teacher should be honest, respectful, moral, patient and willing to learn from experienced co-workers and students as well as have a strong self-discipline."

He is the son of Joe & Pat McDaniel and was born in Marietta, Ohio, in Danville in 1980 when his father became the head coach at Centre College.
During his DHS days, Tim was a 3-year letterman in football & basketball & a 5-year letterman in track. Tim was the starting QB for the JVs in the 8th grade. He won the Rod Bratton Award as a freshman; the FCA Kenny Sanders Award as a sophomore; & was a member of the 1984 & 1987 State Champion Football Teams. Tim had 4 interceptions in one game as a sophomore, breaking the school record. In his junior year, 1986, he was named to the All-CKC 2nd Team on offense & Honorable Mention All-State on Offense; In his senior year, 1987, he received the Coach's Award & had a team-high 8 interceptions, 13 TDs, 1,025 rushing yards, & 147 receiving yards, & named 1st team All-Area on both offense & defense, AP All-State First Team as a DB, & First Team Academic all-State. He was elected to the DHS all-Time Team from 1951-1986.
TRACK:
As a junior, in 1987, he was the team MVP & a member of the State Runner-up team in the 4X400. In his senior year, 1988, He was a member of the DHS's 1st boys State Championship team & a member of the 4X100 State Champions. He participated in the State Champion Track meets in 1984,5,7, 8. As a senior, he was voted most Athletic & received the DAR Good Citizen Award.Tim was a member of the National Honor Society, FCA, & vice-president of the Key Club. & had a GPA of 3.8.
Tim then attended Centre College playing both football & track, & was an All-American Running Back & star track runner. He was Conference Player of the Year in 1989 & 1990, All-Conference 3 years, & finished in the Top Ten in the nation in rushing & scoring in 1990. He still holds 15 school records, including All-time leading rusher (3,897 yards) & scorer (324 points). He scored 54 TDS, gained 5,148 all-purpose yards, & was captain his senior year. Tim was All-Conference in track in 1991 &1992 & captain both years. He was voted in The Centre College Hall of Fame in 2002.Tim graduated from Centre in 1992 with a BS in Mathematics & then earned a Master of Science in Sports Administration at UK while a graduate assistant in football & track at Centre. In 1994, he was an assistant coach in football & track at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee.
He now is a Certified Financial Planner and has owned his own company, McDaniel Wealth Management PLLC in Danville since 2004."

DHS coach in 1953, 1954, and 1955 and they had 23 straight wins. Kentucky Coach of the Year in 1954. The 1954 team was undefeated & defeated rated teams such as Louisville Manual, Henry Clay, Cumberland, & Corbin (there were no classes then) The 1954 team rated 1st in Litkenhouse ratings resulting in being named the KY Mythical State Champs. That team was called The little Miracles as no player weighed more than 180lbs.
He then became an assistant coach at UK under Blanton Collier from 1956 through 1961. From 1964 through 1987, he served as an assistant coach or a scout for the Baltimore Colts and then the New York Giants. He won a Super Bowl ring with the NY Giants in 1987.

In the 400 Meter Dash: 3rd in 1980, 1st in 1981 & 1983, & 4th in 1982.
In the 800 Meter Run: 3rd in 1981. In the 1600 Meter Relay: 2nd in 1980, 1st in 1981,1982, 1983, & 84. In the 800 Yd Medley: 4th in 1980. In the High Jump: 4th in 1983. In the 800 Meter Relay: 1st in 1983 & 1984. Member of DHS State Champions in 1981, 1983, & 1984.
Member of DHS State Runner-up Team in 1982.
In 1981, she set a state & school record in the 400 meter dash (57.49 sec.) In 1983, she set a new DHS 400 meter record of 57.08 which still stands. In 1984, member of the 1600 meter relay team who set DHS record of 4:03 which still stands. In the pre State AA sectional (where top 2 progress to the State Meet): In 400 meter dash: 1st in 1980, 1981, 1982, & 1983. In 800 meter dash: 1st in 1981, in 1600 meter relay: 1st in 1980, 1981, 1982, & 1983. In 800 yd medley relay: 1st in 1980 in 800 meter relay: 1st in 1983 in High jump: 2nd in 1983.
