
Danville High School Hall of Fame

Harold was the captain of the undefeated 1958 team and was All-State in 1957 and 1958.
He was a starting defensive tackle for 3 years, an offensive end, and a fullback his senior year.
Harold was elected as a defensive tackle on the DHS All-Time Team from 1951-1986.
He played for the University of Tennessee for 2 years and then transferred to Western Kentucky University where he was captain of their undefeated team and was All-Conference.
He played for the San Francisco 49ers for a short time.
He also was a starter in basketball for 3 years and was the #1 selection on the 12th Region All-Tourney team, and was 2nd team All-State in 1959.
He also lettered for 3 years in baseball and played all positions during his career.
After his pro experience, he became the Head coach at Metcalf County for the next 17 years & retired from coaching in 1988.

Paul played varsity football for 4 years as an offensive guard and a defensive linebacker. He received the coaches award in 1981 and was the Football MVP in 1982. He was the first Admiral player to bench press 325 pounds.
Paul is best remembered for his wrestling achievements. Paul's high school record was 92 wins and 4 losses. He was the 1982 State Champion at 145 pounds with a record of 29 wins and no losses. In 1981, he was State-Runner-up at 138 pounds with a record of 30 wins and 2 losses. In 1980, he was State Runner-up at 132 pounds with a record of 33 wins and 2 losses.
He attended Carson-Newman on a wrestling scholarship for 2 years and retired because of a broken neck.
He was an Assistant Coach under Tom Duffy at Highlands when they won a state championship.
He then became the head football coach at Perry Central High School for several years. While there he started a wrestling program and has had seven boys go to the state meet.
He was voted by his peers as one of the best Industrial Technology teachers in the state. Paul is now retired.

Bo was an outstanding athlete in both basketball and baseball. Bo was a starting guard for 4 years at DHS. The DHS record in his Junior and senior years was 49 wins and 7 losses. The team won their first 16 games his senior year and this is still a DHS record. Bo was captain his senior year and averaged 23 points per game, led the team in assists, and was voted MVP both his junior and senior year. His junior year, he was All-CKC, All 45th district tourney team, and on the 12th Region All-Tourney team. His senior year, he was All-CKC, on the 12th Region All-Tourney team, on the all-State basketball team and played on the Kentucky All-Star team.
He also excelled in baseball for 4 years pitching and playing 2nd base.

Susan was an outstanding track and cross country athlete. Susan competed for the Lady Admirals for 6 years in track and 6 years in cross country. Susan was a member of 6 consecutive DHS State Champion teams in track and 4 consecutive DHS State Champion Cross Country teams. She was 1st team Cross Country All-State 3 times and 2nd All-State 3 times.
During her DHS years, Susan was the State Champion in the 3200 Meter Run, won the 800 Meter Run twice, and won the 1600 Meter Run twice.
She was a major contributor in many other Regional track meets as well as many Invitational track meets.

"Bill was a DHS graduate in 1949. He was the first full time sports editor for the Advocate-Messenger and covered sports for 44 years from 1952 until his death in 1996. Danville High School presented his family with a commemorative plaque for his contributions to the school after his death. He has been elected to the Danville Alumni Hall of Fame and inducted into the 12th Regional Basketball Hall of Fame for his contributions to area basketball. The Advocate-Messenger honored him by naming its annual area coach of the year award the Bill Vaught Memorial Area Coach of the year.
Following in his father's footsteps is LARRY VAUGHT, Class of 1970. He began working for the Advocate-Messenger in 1975 and has been the sports editor since his father's death in 1996. He has been named Kentucky Sportswriter of the year 3 times so far. He was President of the Kentucky AP Sports Editors Association from 1984 to 1991. He has been a columnist for many organizations such as The Cats Pause, Kentucky Sports Report, WVLK Radio, WLAP Radio, And The UK football pre-game show.Last, but not least, Larry has been the chairman of this Bob Allen Pigskin Classic since 2000."

Kenny was captain of the 1974 Admirals football team.
Kenny started the girl's softball program at Bate in 2002.
Kenny has been an invaluable paraprofessional coach for Danville High School since 1980 when he worked with Coach Duffy.
He was the coach of the Bate Middle School Bulldogs for 18 years and had 14 undefeated seasons.
His team had 78 consecutive wins at one time.
His coaching record at Bate from 1988 through 2007 was 217 wins, 36 losses, and 11 ties.
Kenny was a long time assistant on multiple DHS and Bate football coaching staffs throughout the years.
